Our family and friends were invited to a special baptism with a touch of vintage style. A little bird and blooming branches offered both a classic accent and modern twist to this celebration of love and new life.
Garden floral invitations, order of services, place cards and thank you cards were all matched in aloe green. The ceremony was held at the Rivonia Catholic Church, and Bailey's christening gown was the same one her older sister, Zara wore the year before, smocked lovingly by her grandmother. Zara was not without her own new smocked dress in creams and browns so as to coordinate together with the greens of the occasion. For the lunch table, centrepieces alternated between wire bird cages, cream lanterns and potted orchids - which were given together with care instructions as party favours. Placecards were literally nestled among aloe ceramic birds and green almond "eggs". A quiz revealing your birth tree and personality traits were printed and slipped into each guest's menu card. and who says dessert is for the birds? Miniature Ferro Rocher or strawberries and cream cakes were given to each guest, after all who does not wish for a slice of cake hours after the party has finished! And our little bird? She only made a chirp or two all day - now she sings!
