Sweet Tooth Try our candy-themed tree decorations with a classic assortment of glossy ribbon candies dangling next to sturdy candy canes. The red-and-white colour theme is continued throughout with red and white striped ball ornaments and bows. A tree that looks like it is good enough to eat that you may have to attach a sign that warns: FOR DECORATION ONLY! Visit our website and Christmas shopping weekend to see the entire collection.
TABLE
Candy Cane For the table linen, our in-house seamstress has sewn up some very bright red and white candy cane table runners and matching napkins. In addition, fabric cones with a ribbon tie were made with a dual purpose, to decorate the Christmas tree, and be filled with candy as party favours. Later on in this article under FAVOURS see how you can make your own!

Red and White Delight For all crockery, cutlery, glassware use the Essential 8 (see our first Good Newsletter about these basics that every hostess should have). But feel free to add red items where these are available, like our fun red with white spots bauble place card holders! Great for this party, and so many others: think a Kiddies Circus Birthday Party or Casino and Poker Night
Candy Galore Use our glass apothecary jars featured in Good Newsletter Issue 3, as well as display additional glass jars and compotes, together with our appropriately themed candy jars and boxes - to create an Ice Cream Candy Cane Bar!

FUN AND GAMES
No-Bake Cookie Cottages Wafer crackers are a breeze to work with, so skip the baking and get straight to the fun of decorating your own mini candy neighbourhood. Putting the houses together takes no time, so you can make a few before, and then let kids adorn them. For features such as green gumdrop hedges or a blue jellybean path, buy sweets in bulk at a candy shop or online. Cover the ground with a blanket of snowy shredded coconut for a wondrous display you can enjoy all season.

Cocoa Candy Cane Marshmallows Here is a brilliant idea straight from Livy's blog: www.afieldjournal.blogspot.com. "If you're wondering what to do with leftover candy canes, these hot chocolate toppers might be the answer. The original recipe (from Better Homes and Gardens) called for a powdered sugar mixture to adhere the crushed candy cane, but I thought I'd try dark chocolate instead. They were so simple to make and I ended up making almost three dozen; we enjoyed them with hot chocolate after the belated Christmas dinner we had over the weekend. I also wrapped some up in cellophane and made labels (the perfect opportunity to test out my new Xyron sticker maker)."

Download the sticker template from our website, and be sure to check out Livy's blog - it is amazing, you will spend hours and hours pouring over it all! |
