There are many milestones in one's life but graduation is such an important stepping-stone. An accumulation of years of studying and whether it is for kindergarten, high school or varsity each deserves a celebration. And very often a farewell to the friends made along the way, as one starts a new chapter in life.

INSPIRATION

Bright Spark
Such an occasion deserves to be bold and bright, so we chose chalkboard black and sunny yellow for the colour scheme. Which coincide with the classic idea of black mortarboard hats and yellow tassels. Black and white stripes were used to mimic school uniforms and ties.

INVITATION

For the invitations, and other stationery items, we used In Good Company's Black and White Ribbon Paper Collection. We printed this onto bright yellow cardboard, but this set is so versatile that it can be printed on any colour paper and to suit any event.

Wish the guest of honour your best, by making a big statement with a pennant banner spelling out WELL DONE!

TABLE

Cheeseboard Centrepieces
All black and white crockery and cutlery were laid on the table with bright yellow taper and votive candles. To create interest and height on the table, black and white stripe boxes were staggered down the length of the table, with black lids and homemade yellow cord tassels attached to the centres to mimic graduation mortarboards. Sunflowers were naturally the choice of flowers.

MENU

Drink Up
Use wine tags to label everyone's drink or use them to spell out salutations like: "Good Luck" "Congratulations" and "Best Wishes". For other drinks insert drinking straws with flags bearing the well wishes.

FUN AND GAMES

I will keep in touch, I will keep in touch...
Set up a large black chalkboard and ask guests to write congratulatory messages and stand in front of these for a Polaroid shot. Attach self-adhesive photo corners into a scrapbooking album in advance so guests could easily slip pictures into place. Have a table by the chalkboard holding extra film and cameras, plus the guest book and pens for attendees to write messages next to their pictures.

Pop Quiz
Make up simple Pop Quiz on game sheets, asking all sorts of questions about the guest of honour. Print this onto note cards and place one at each guest's place setting together with a sharp HB. Be sure to have a small prize for the guest who answers the most questions correctly. No cheating now!

FAVOURS

You are a Star!
I absolutely love stationery! So much so all my Varsity friends for my 21st birthday put together a little pencil bag for me. The best surprise was that all the goods were there old bits and pieces, and many of which were freebies from audit firms!

So maybe not everyone loves stationery as much as I do, but you can be assured that your favour will be useful! Fill pillow favour boxes with goodies like a:

Seal the bag with a sticker thanking your guests for coming, add the phrase "You deserve a gold star!" and stick one onto the tag as well!

Key to Success
After graduation there are so many new things to look forward to... and many of these require a set of keys: new house/digs/dorm, car/bike, parent's house, new office etc. Our key rings are perfect to highlight this milestone, and if one can't find the perfect "word" key ring, then surely a fancy diamante one will do!
